Life is a journey…. and today, I am going to share a part of mine with you. Why? Because people are always asking me if I was psychic as a child.. did I know I had abilities… what lead me to become Lisa Freeman, Psychic Intuitive Consultant and Medium instead of someone sitting behind a desk in someone else’s office.

So, here is a little of my story… the rest you will be able to read in my book, I’m Not Your Mother’s Psychic, once I get finished writing it!

As my friend Sandy always says.. “everyone is born psychic”!

So, just some ‘examples’ of my guides showing me the way and introducing me to experiences that would come in handy in my now profession.

As a child I was wonderfully intuitive in sports. The first time I held a tennis racquet, I could play.. the first time I bounced a basketball I could run the court with it.. the first time I played baseball I was a natural… and so on with any sport I dove into. Of course back then it was all about ‘being a gifted athlete’. That’s what people would say. I know now though, that it’s all about being intuitive and just ‘knowing’ where the ball is going or where the hoop is on the court without looking or knowing how to skim the top of the water in a dive.

My entire young adult life I was being shown and taught, how to use my intuitive ability! Of course I did not know that then. Never thought about becoming a psychic. Never even used the word psychic. But…… I would watch Superman and know I could see through walls. I knew that I could wiggle my nose like Bewitched and make things happen. I knew that I could fly like Mighty Mouse, at least in my dreams. So my guides were working that angle also… teaching me without my knowledge.

Are you connecting the dots yet in your own life?

Forward a few years. I went to college on a Tennis scholarship… guess what I was ‘lead’ to study. Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis on Child Development. During my practicums, I worked with Autistic kids. OMG I fell in love with those children! They were some of the smartest kids I had ever had the pleasure to work with, they simply related to the world on a much higher level of consciousness.

Mmmmmmm…. are you seeing a puzzle coming together?

I also worked at a Mental Hospital for around 14 years. That was certainly not by accident! I learned more about energy and exchange working there than I ever could in a book! And I know now, that most of the residents there were not ‘crazy’… they simply had such a highly developed intuitive sense that ‘norms’ did not understand them.

Moving forward again… I had an on the job accident where I lifted a seizure patient several times on an ambulance cot and ripped everything in my shoulder, that caused me to have to go through surgery, not be able to lift much after that, and therefore had to move on to another career. Yup, I think the guides planned that one also. I loved that job. Would have been there forever! So, found a new job and I ended up at a chemical plant driving a fork truck. Yes, really! I was the very best driver and truck loader they had, and I was the only girl. That came as naturally to me as Tennis. It taught me to be easy with chemicals and respect things that were much stronger than myself.

That company got bought out after 1 year and so onward, to my next adventure… a florist. No, I did not work with the flowers, they had me making all of the candy in the store, but, and here is the biggie, I was the delivery person to all of the funeral homes in town. Medium…. funeral homes… get the connection my guides are making? I had to take the flowers and place them around the caskets so they looked amazing! Before that I was sort of freaked out by funeral homes. This gave me permission to start looking at death a little differently and finding the peace in it, instead of the fear. I also occasionally ran into the family as I was placing flowers and they would extend gratitude, and that made me feel good to know what I was doing was making a difference.

That was a temp job and from there, I moved on to the local newspaper office, and guess what I did there? I was the classified ads manager, and also the Legals and OBIT manager! Which meant I had to deal with all of the funeral homes in town and the obits that went into the paper….mmmm… interesting. Now my guides had me involved in the feelings ‘on paper’, of the families of those who had crossed over.

Have I told you how very smart my guides are??

From there I went to work for an insurance company. I was a mail clerk. Most boring job I have ever had in my life!!! Bar none. And I was usually there for at least 10 hours per day… but do you know how my guides worked ‘that’ into the plan? That is when I met Sandy Anastasi through the internet and Starchild, and because I had that no brain usage type of job, I could take Psychic Development tapes with me and listen to them all day long! And I did! Every single day I had PD tapes, or Astrology tapes or Tarot.. whatever I was studying with Sandy at the time, I listened to at work and it kept me sane. And it also showed me a better way of living and using the psychic abilities that I had. No more wasting my time with someone else’s mundane tasks and for what? I was going nowhere fast! So I quit and I moved from Oklahoma to Florida to study with Sandy in person and I have been here for 10 years now.

My guides had a plan and after I began studying with Sandy, I started to ‘get that’, and understand and I acted upon it!

Ok, so I am not saying that you need to quit what you are doing and move to Florida, but rather to look back over your life… ‘see’ what you have been lead through and to, and ‘feel’ if where you are now, is really where you are suppose to be.

I bet if you take the time to go back over what you did in your past, you are going to see things that might have taken you a different direction if you had listened to that ‘still small voice’ inside.

And here is the beauty of life… you have choices. You can change things. You can be somebody else in this life if you so choose!

The information is out there, folks. Learn it, live it, be it. Do not waste who you came here to be! You owe that to ‘yourself’!

It really is all up to you!

The short answer to that is ‘yes’… followed by the obvious question, how do you know?

First, let me get a couple of things out of the way. You do NOT have to have a ‘jolting experience’ in order for your abilities to start flourishing. You do NOT have to have something such as a Near Death Experience in order to begin using your psychic abilities. You do NOT have to have seen ghosts at a very early age. You do NOT have to be a 4th generation Tarot reader… understand?

Do you know when it was that I started paying attention to my own psychic abilities? When I was going through a divorce back in about 2002! I was looking to find out who I was and what my purpose in life was, because, well, when you are living in the dust bowl of Oklahoma, you have to ‘reach out’ to find yourself! One day I am chatting on Oprah’s site with a gal named Deb, and a few days later (through what I now know was my guide’s intervention) I was led to Sandy Anastasi and her Psychic Development classes and BAM… I never looked backward again!! You will have to wait until my book comes out to get the rest of that story.

So many people are under the misconception that if something ‘life threatening’ does not happen to you, you can’t open up to your psychic self. Sorry to burst that bubble. Just not true!! And just because you ‘have had’ that kind of experience, does not make you any more psychic than the next person… what it does do, is gets your attention!

Yes, I have heard folks say “I was not psychic until I had an NDE”. Sorry, I’m just not buying that! Yes you ‘were’ psychic before that… you just needed that extra kick to get you going!

Everyone is born psychic. EVERYONE! How do I know? My mentor Sandy Anastasi told me so! And, I have done my Libra research for many years and I have talked to ‘many’ people. Yup, just talked to people. And everyone I have ever talked to on this subject, at some time in their life, has had a psychic experience! Even those folks who are reading this right now, shaking their heads no…. YES you have! You just don’t know yet that that is what it was.

We are all capable of tapping in to our abilities if we choose to do so, and at any age during our lifetime. It’s really not hard to do. In fact, you are really already tapped in, but you might not be paying attention, or what you have been doing all of your life is just so natural that you would never see it as psychic. It’s normal every day stuff to you.. and that’s true, because psychic ability is normal!

But I could type all day trying to convince people that they are psychic.. not going to do that… I’m just going to list a few things that might help you decide if your own abilities are awakening at this time. Explore these and see if they fit. Take a moment to go back in time and ‘see’ if you did some of these as a child. It’s quite amazing once we realize what we have been doing all our lives, but never thought about it being anything psychic.

Do you ever walk into a room and feel like you don’t want to be there?

Have you ever stood next to a person that made you feel tired?

When other people download their problems, does that drain you of all energy?

Have you ever heard your name whispered, when nobody was there?

Have you ever seen colors around people, animals, plants?

Do you know things before they happen?

Do you have vivid dreams and dream in color?

Have you ever felt someone standing behind you, when you were alone?

Have you ever just known not to drive down a certain street and then found out there was an accident on the road you did not take?

Have you ever been in the car and felt someone sitting next to you?

Have you ever thought of someone, reached for the phone to call them, and they were calling you?

Have you become more sensitive to heat or cold?

Do people seek you out for your advice?

Do you sometimes become overwhelmed by other’s emotions?

Do you know when your child is hurt, before you even get the call?

Do you mentally ‘check in’ to make sure your loved one’s are ok?

Do you sometimes talk to people who have crossed over and expect them to answer?

These are only a few things that you might be noticing if your intuitive side is waking up, and if so, it might be time for you to be learning a little bit about those abilities! Being psychic or learning to use your psychic ability is a wonderful journey, if you understand how those abilities work.

I encourage you to embrace them, learn about them, practice with them and allow them work to your benefit. We live in a very psychic world and it’s so important that we start using the abilities we were born with. It’s part of who you are and can certainly enhance your life’s experiences if you allow it to do so.

RECLAIMING YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF!

So what does that heading say to you? What ‘is’ your Authentic Self? Or rather I should ask, ‘who’ is your Authentic Self?

In a nutshell, your authentic self is the person you were created to be. Not the person that everyone else thinks you should be… it’s the person you were when you were born, before ‘life’ got in the way. Before someone put a title on you. Before you stepped into a life long role. Before you followed in someone else’s footsteps and became that Dr. or Lawyer or teacher or ‘whomever’, that people around you thought you would be good at. We can certainly be easily swayed off our mark when we like making other people in our world happy.

So now we are defined by our role in life and not by the person we are. Would you agree? And so many of us are feeling somewhat incomplete in our own lives because of this. We jump into the life that folks around us believe we should be a part of and somewhere along the line, we lose that authentic self.

Let’s see…. Think about this. Seriously! What are your ‘true’ gifts and talents? Dig deep and find that inner compass and see which direction it points. Who are ‘you’? When you are not being defined by what you do, who are you? Inside!

That’s a very tough question because honestly, a lot of us don’t know the answer to that anymore. We become a broken record that spins, day after day after day, playing the same old song.

Don’t get me wrong… that does not mean you are unhappy with your life. Some people love what they do, who they do it with, where, when, how and so on… so they have allowed themselves to become in tune with their roles, but some have difficulty with that. Some people are doing the daily grind and hate it, because it’s not who they are. The vibration is off and they become out of balance with themselves.

I guess the point of my ranting is that I fully believe you can change who you have become, and get closer to that authentic self and become a healthier and happier you.

I love the movie ‘A Knight’s Tale’ with Health Ledger. In one of the scenes he is shown as a little boy, sitting high atop the stocks, watching the knights ride proudly by on their horses, and he says, “Some day… I’ll be a knight!” Something he could never be because his father was a thatcher, and so that is what he would grow up to be also. And he hears another man laughing at him who says, “A thatcher’s son? A knight? You might as well try and change the stars!” And the young boy asks his father, “Can it be done, father? Can a man change his stars?” And his father tells him, “Yes, if he believes enough, a man can do anything.”

I have never forgotten that scene and reflect on it often in my own life when I have doubts. It just makes sense! Our authentic self, need not be defined by other people’s perspective of who we are, or who we should be.

We get ‘stuck’ in jobs we don’t like, houses we don’t like, doing things we don’t like… and the good news is, we have the power to change! We really do not have to settle. It’s ok to not have the same job for 30 years! It’s ok to not live in the same town all of your life. It’s ok to wear red when everyone else is wearing green! It’s ok to be who you are and to expand your experiences on this planet! And it’s ok to reclaim your authentic self!

Change is hard. It takes us out of our comfort zone and into the unknown, and humans sometimes have a problem with that. We are creatures of habit and security and when we tilt either one, we get a little nervous and tend to pull back.

Give yourself permission to explore…. To take chances.. to try something new.. you really ‘can’ change your stars!

Americans gather in celebration

As Americans heard the news of the death of Osama bin Laden, you could feel the shift of energy throughout the world. Almost as though the entire planet let out a huge, simultaneous sigh of relief!

A blanket of silence hushed anxious voices as the President made the formal announcement, and once the speech was delivered, there was an almost deafening shout of celebration to be heard from this United States. People cheered while arm in arm, and sang 'God Bless America' at the tops of their voices while proudly waving our American flag... Something I have not been witness to for many, many years. It was like a breath of fresh air to see this type of unity, with such positive energy flowing freely from person to person, town to town... State to state... and once again, if even for only a few hours.... We became a whole nation... And it is my belief, that we may have just become a stronger and more united force because of this!

10 years is a long time to wait for what is a very important victory for our country.... I would like to call it a period of closure, or at least maybe a 'symbolic' period of closure for those who lost someone on 9/11, 2001. This certainly will not bring those back that are no longer with us, but maybe this achievement, this justice, will help families to start letting some of the feelings go that they have not been able to fully put to rest.... Maybe closing 'this chapter' of bin Laden, will give us permission to start healing, not only as an individual person, but also as a United nation!

This is indeed, my hope...

Wow!!!!!

That's what comes to mind when I think about this past Friday night... October, 8th, 2010.

I had the pleasure of being able to attend one of John Edward's gallery sessions for the very first time and I was blown away!! To say that this man is amazing is an understatement!! He is so phenomenal at what he does and how he presents himself. And his delivery of the messages coming through was something to be savored.

The energy that John brings into his sessions is totally over the top, and that stems from the channel he opens along with an ‘in your face personality’ ... it's one of the…. no…… it IS the biggest channel I have ever experienced.... and I say 'experienced' because that is what you do in one of his sessions. Even if you are not one of the folks who actually gets a first hand reading from this man, you are still gaining an amazing energy connection by being in the same space with him! You really can't simply sit and watch.. energetically you become involved on some level and you can literally feel the buzz. So it’s like an entire gallery interaction…

Now, does that mean that everything went smoothly... no.... there are and will always be, those folks getting a reading who become so consumed by their own expectations of what they are hoping to hear, that it can make it difficult for a medium, even someone as amazing as John Edward, to push their way through a bought of 'psychic amnesia'.... but John is such a professional and such a dominating energy, that he simply trudges through the road blocks and continues to forge ahead with the same information he is receiving, over and over, until the person he is trying to bring the message to begins to fully appreciate the process (at least in the moment), and they get out of their own way and begin to ‘hear’ who is coming through and why… and that is a beautiful moment to behold… because when that happens… you can telepathically hear every other person in the audience go “FINALLY”!!!! lol ….. And from that point on, with that particular person, music fills the air, information flows freely, and all is right with the world…. Until the next person’s turn…lol….. And then here we go again.

I have to tell you …. John Edward has a lot of patience with his audience. I have never seen anyone who can say the very same thing, 5 different ways, in order to help the person ‘here in the physical’, understand the message from the person on the other side, and not get so frustrated that he throws his hands in the air and stops trying. John is very persistent… he does NOT give up! And his comments and facial expressions will keep you laughing all night….. But John has been doing this now for 25 years, and he knows how very significant that one little red shoe, or the leaky roof over the bathroom in the back of the house, or the ’tooth you have in your pocket’… can be to the person he is talking to, so he continues on until it ‘click’s… and he knows he has done his job for that one reading.

I just have to interject one more time… WOW!!!

If you have not ever gone to one of John Edward’s gallery sessions I do strongly encourage you to do so. Even if you are not personally read by him, you are not left wanting. And why? Because by the time you leave a 2 hour session such as the one I attended… you ‘get it’! You understand the process much more clearly and you know that the people getting the readings that night were the one’s who we suppose to… and you walk away from the experience ‘yourself’ with a whole different perspective and a more intense appreciation of what John’s work is all about and how very important it is…

I meet a lot of people along my path, and am constantly hearing “I do what John Edward does”….. sorry folks… there is and will always be, only ONE John Edward in our lifetime.... And although there are many mediums on this planet who do spirit communication, and do a very nice job through their own abilities…… NOBODY does it like John Edward!!

I can’t wait to see him in action again!

Absolutely!

We do this all of the time, but because we don't think of our experiences as connections we sometimes ignore what we heard, felt, saw - knew......

Take a trip back in your own mind and remember the times when you felt someone standing behind you only to turn around and find empty space (or at least you thought it was empty). Recall the time you suddenly smelled the perfume your mother used to wear, as you are sitting in your car alone. And how many times have you said, "Okay, Dad, where did I leave my car keys?" and then had a hunch where they were and found them there?

All of these examples are what I call simple connections to the other side. It takes no effort on our part for these things to happen, but it does take an acceptance, awareness, and acknowledgement if we want these experiences to grow stronger and more frequent.

Mediumship and channeling IS that acceptance and awareness.

As a trained professional medium through the Anastasi System of Psychic Development, I have learned how to make that connection very safely, and to do so in a way that respects those who have crossed over. And when that door is open, it allows me to be able to hear, see, feel, and sometimes taste, as a way of gathering information from the deceased person. Through that means of communicating with them, I am able to pass along what I am experiencing to my clients, which will hopefully be healing sessions for them.

I am asked all of the time why I choose to connect with those who have crossed over. Why would I want to open myself up to the other side? My answer is always the same: Because the very first time I realized that my father was still available through spirit and that connection brought to me this amazing, warm, peaceful feeling knowing that he was okay, I knew that it would be selfish not to share that type of experience with other people if I could. And I can, and I do. And every time a client 'gets it' and he begins to understand the process, it's an amazing experience for all of us involved in the session.

I do joke a lot with telling folks that I "talk to dead people." But then really, don't we all?

Hello all!

I just had the most amazing day at an animal shelter donation fair!

I had been asked to join in the fun by doing animal readings and tarot/psychic readings. Met a lot of great people.. a lot of wonderful animals and did some fun readings on both humans and animals... lol.... and from that fair, I have been invited on a BOW WOW cruise (how cool is that), where pets and owners go out on a pontoon boat for about an hour and just enjoy the fresh air and water together. I will be doing readings while we are boating. What an awesome opportunity to meet even more fun people!! I will let you know how it goes! Until then... practice your remote viewing!!
